Just calling it a "kusari" is more confusing than it needs to be. The actual weapon is a "kusarigama", a "kusari" is either a weighted chain or chain armor (I'm guessing the word is just "chain").

But yeah, the thing on her back is her weapon(s). You can see the blade folded down against the handle on the one she is reaching for, and right next to it could either be another handle or an empty slot for it.
