Hmm, good point. It could mean multiple things.

However, I believe the grammatically correct* way to speak of a Kusashi unit is a Kusashus (e.g. this Kusashus is carrying Oasis), and either a group of multiple Kusashi units as Kusashi (e.g. Riff saw two Kusashi as he was fading into unconsciousness) or the ambiguous confusing entity that is somehow maybe Kusari and Sasha in multiple places at the same time as Kusashi (e.g. the gang and Kusashi had crossed paths several times). This has the benefit (?) of making Kusashi ambiguously singular and plural, just like the being herself (beings themselves?), which is definitely helpful.
