Dunno if you're drawing upon the same reference, but...

When I saw the final three panels, with the Bloody Bun rising up, guns at the ready, my mind flashed back to the scene in Star Trek II where the Enterprise does the same thing against the Reliant, thus outwitting Khan's own two-dimensional thinking. That's one of the sweetest moments in that movie, and it's a super-sweet moment in today's strip as well!

As for Bun-bun having it too easy in this fight... I'll comment on that in SRC.

EDIT: Based on the final panel, it does look like the Bloody Bun's cannon are indeed the two things we first saw sticking up just fore and aft of the sail. They apparently have near-360 rotation, since the rear gun is pointing almost completely forward.

Hey, cool. This strip had plot progresion, Bun Bun about to kick butt, and a joke that I imediatly got (it also explained that the ship must recharge the cannons).
