Oh yea, Saturday is MiTDOP.

*Another* comic where you could replace the demons with humans and change 'humankind' to 'demonkind' and a few other slight moderations like 'filth' to 'soap' and the comic would still make sense.

I make a plea to Ian from us Sluggites....PLEASE create situations that are more unique to demons!

When a squirrel runs in front of your car and gets flattened, do you think, "Gee, what a gutsy creature! I admire him!" No, you think, "What a stupid thing to do. Squirrelkind will be grateful that they no longer have him messing up the gene pool."

Or that's what I think at any rate.

And I rate this 10 Lames on a Lameness scale of 1-5. I mean, it's so lame it needs a wheelchair to hobble out to the screen. I'm just glad I got drunk BEFORE reading it. :torg:

Ah well. I knew this was coming and I knew it wouldn't be funny. I clicked the link for Sluggy on Saturday anyway, the only person I can blame is myself. (Well, I *could* blame other people but just because Maritza Campos urged me to read Sluggy Freelance a couple years ago doesn't mean the Do* stories are her fault... *grin*)

Took me a minute, but I like the demon definition of "trashy."

I hope that's a real reconciliation, though, since I can't see this gag stretching any further. And Terb and Plorb better make their first goal as rulers to get their intelligence back.

meh, unremarkable. It did not offend me, this time, at least.
I notice here more then ever the 'demon vs human' joke in this strip. It reminds me of my father's complaint about the Adams Family, the only joke is that they're backwards.
Similar thing happens here, recently, the joke has been they're like humans, except, as we see here, demonic.

i can see the humor, no one is out of character, i cant complain.
didnt ammuse me though.

*sigh* Another strip where the only joke is that evil is good and good is evil to demons. That only makes demons look stupid. It's like the tired old joke where a monster is afraid of ordinary humans.

It takes away the whole essence of demons: they commit evil acts not because they think they are good acts, but because they revel in being evil, in hurting others. If they think reconciliation is what hurts others whereas fighting does not, and they prefer to fight and abhor reconciliation, then they are not evil; they are good, only their belief in what is good is different from ours.

You see? So it reduces them to nothing except being lame.

This was just LAME... but one minor thing...

Wouldn't a demon enjoy having his/her mouth washed out with filth? You'd think they'd fear having their mouths washed out with "goodness" more...

Boring strip. I hope next Saturday's is better.

Okay, I traditionally view complaints about the MitDo* strips as a competitions for who is the most pete-centric and actually kind of a lame "I'm more of a super-fan than you are" competition. Ian is an accomplished artist in his own right (I don't care that he doesn't match up with Pete, no one asked him to), and deserves credit for his own strip, as well as turning Saturday into a minor chuckle instead of a repeat of Friday.

That said, this sucks so hard it drew all existance from the universe into a pocket dimension and continues to suck all the energy out of reality until gravity reverses and causes the next Big Bang. Not only does it make demons into people, AND re-emphasizes that demons are just people on opposites day (Oscar the Grouch burned out the "trash-is-good" concept a quarter century ago), but what does it take on? JERRY SPRINGER?!?!?! really, that's the best you can do? This joke is what, 10, maybe 12 years too past its prime? Seriously, got any jokes about Burt Reynolds and America's love afair with the bagel in there somewhere? Maybe an Ollie North reference?

Seriously, someone call Vince Suzukawa and see if he wants the Saturday job, cause Ian is done.
