The point isn't to kill him, although that would be nice, the point is to make him jump. Distract him from the Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat barreling towards his boss. Throw them all off balance, and its all over but the shooting. The bullet hits Assault in the chest. He reels back in pain. Ran stops and fires again at the one with the laser rifle.
Edit: Never mind, didn't get a post warning, if Stacy's moving in on Laser, I'll switch targets to attack the one with the assault rifle.

Ran shoots and misses Assault, who shoots a three bullet burst in retaliation. One of the bullets hits Ran in the leg. Hand Grenade, enraged, throws the grenade. Tyler jumps out of the way quickly enough, while Grenade gets hit in the chest by shrapnel.
