Sebastian locks on to three more corsairs and fires up his target painter.

Sabnock vs LT3, LT5, LT6 - Target Painter
vs LT3: 4 - Minor Success - +1 to future sensor rolls against LT3
vs LT5: 11 - Great Success! - Firing Solution 2 on LT5
vs LT6: 8 - Success! - Firing Solution 1 on LT6

While the data is incomplete on Light Corsair 3, there is still enough to work out future calculations and other technical maneuvers. Meanwhile, the data on the other two corsairs is pristine, and should prove useful to the rest of the team. His drones move forward silently.

Fred's controlled mecha turns and fires upon one of the medium corsairs, annoyed that it attacked its new master.

LT4 vs MD1 - Light Missile Array: 9 - 3 - 1 + 1 = 6, Minor Success - 1 dent applied
LT4 vs MD1 - Coilgun: 4 - 3 + 2 = 3 - Failure...

Unfortunately, the controlled mecha isn't a very good shot by itself, and only leaves a small dent on the medium corsair's chasis.

Fred, meanwhile, moves to hack another corsair.

And once again, he finds himself in complete control of this new machine. His systems are currently heavily taxed, and he can probably only hack one more corsair before he can control no more.

Feng opens fire upon a light corsair, her firing computer augmented by some excellent data obtained by Sebastian.

Two lasers lance from the heavy rifle, and in rapid succession they cripple and then completely scuttle the machine. Sebastian takes note of the scrap, and thinks he could carry that and a few other scrapped mecha on the White Dwarf given its load capacity.

Jonas opens fire, taking special aim and doing a trick shot that lets him ignore the armor of his target. As he does, he catches a soft green glow coming from his shirt pocket, with a slightly melodic hum...

The energy pistol strikes a weak point in the engine, causing an energy feedback crippling most of the systems. A single shot from the coilgun is all it takes to rupture the engine, scuttling the mecha. Sebastian makes note of this as well, and is now sure the crew can only take one more scrapped corsair before they are at capacity.

Jomo locks on to a few more mecha, and then starts flying forward.

Enrica's voice comes over the intercom.

>> Jomo, what are you doing. <<

Jomo steers his corsair to ram in to one of the remaining light corsairs.

>> Jomo, stop. <<

Jomo rams in to the light corsair, head smashing in to head...

Jomo vs LT5 <Head> - Robotackle: 3 + 4 = 7 - Success! - +1 Damage Level

The opponent's head is damaged, and Enrica lets an exacerbated sigh loose over the intercom.

Wedge shoots a message to Biggs. >>I'm going in! Try to destroy that one's armor!<<

Biggs complies, aiming his gauss rifle at the light corsair that Wedge flies to, sword at the ready.

Romulus vs LT6 <Body> - Gauss Rifle: 9 + 1 - 1 = 9 Success! - +1 Damage Level
Romulus vs LT6 <Body> - Gauss Rifle: 12 CRITICAL THREAT!! 6 + 1 - 1 + 1 = 7 CRITICAL SUCCESS!! LT6 <Body> armor destroyed!

Two well placed shots completely shatter the body armor of the corsair, giving Wedge a wide opening to get in with a well placed strike.

Remus vs LT6 - Vibroblade: 10 - 1 = 9 Success! - +1 Damage Level

The enemy corsair is damaged, but not down.

Rocs tries to goad the heavies by flying between them, swords at the ready to deflect lasers. As he flies through, a gap between them, they fire.

HV1 vs Barbas - Precision Laser: 11 - 3 - 2 - 2 = 4 Minor Success - 1 dent on Barbas
HV2 vs Barbas - Precision Laser: 5 - 3 - 2 -2 = 0 >Barbas Trigger - Turn the Path vs HV2< 8 + 2 - 3 = 7 - Success! - +1 Damage Level on HV2

One shot grazes Rocs, but the other is deftly deflected back at the heavy mecha, causing it to sustain damage. Over the intercom, a message comes through.

On cue, all four medium corsairs turn their attention on Rocs and open fire.

Four shots...

and four deflections. Within the span of a few seconds, Rocs sees the path of all the attacks, and dancing in space the way only a Shatti can, catches and deflects each shot. Three fly towards the first heavy corsair, with one very lucky bullet hitting a vital point on its engine.The last energy bolt lances back towards the heavy corsair that rocs had hit before, and pierces through its armor. Both heavy corsairs are now crippled. The remaining light corsairs hang motionless, stunned at what just transpired.

Enrica's voice comes over the intercom.

>>Great work! This is all but over! Take out the heavies before the mediums can repair them!<<

>>Yes! Come on guys, let's push the attack!<< Sebastion yells as he maneuvers Sabnock forward to begin engaging the Medium Corsairs before they exit his closest possible range. Activating his Target Painter, he tries to get a Firing Solution on MD1.

As Sabnock moves to get within targeting range of the Medium Corsairs, Sebastion takes advantage of the Firing Solution he already has against Light Corsair 5 and orders his drones to blast it clear out of the void of space.

Haborym then jets forward, moving as fast as its bulky body can carry it. As she shoots towards the end of the battlefield, she aims down the barrel of her rifle, lining up a shot, then sends a beam of burning light into the back of the closest Medium Unit. With any luck, her shot will fry its Field Maintenance Unit, keeping it from being able to undo the damage that Rocs has done. As her flight path continues, she yells over the 'Comm <<If you can't get to the Heavies, fry a repair kit! One way or the other, we've got these *******s!>>

LT3's internal sound system crackles to life. "Hello and welcome to the winning side! Seriously, do none of you bother to change the default root password on these things? Please relax and stay calm, if I find you trying to throw me out of your cruiser's systems, then I can and will throw you out of the airlock. Please ensure that your backups are up-to-date and enjoy the film!"

And with that, Fred splices LT3 into the ongoing streaming of Dr Who that LT4 has been receiving. This means that the pilot of LT3 has missed the first few minutes, but he can just watch them later and edit the scene together in his memories, right?

However, controlling multiple bodies at once takes a fair amount of attention. It would be a lot easier to handle, if it weren't for the fact that Fred's sentient code takes well over 90% of available processing resources to begin with...

I can probably only handle only one more. So let's make that one count... have the lights try to take out the heavies, and pick up someone with a repair kit...

LT3:

Jonas turns, satisfied with the breakdown of his target. He notes that the two infantry type guys have the remaining light models on the ropes. So he turns towards the mediums. A quick check of the systems shows him a perfect target, damaged, and with a critical weakness to kinetic weapons in its shielding. He blasts foward at full speed, dashing as best he can in hopes to disorient the target.

For a moment he is distracted by Rocs' display. "Damnit, why won't he let me just get a look inside?"

Coming down on the target, Jonas lets fire with his coilgun, aiming to cripple another frame.

In the shattered, red-hued bridge of the Carina, Fuerrot seethed with anger as reports of fleeing pirates resisting and fighting back his hunter squads came in one after the other. "Humiliating... this is humiliating... all I have to show for this is a wrecked dreadnought and the head of one notorious pirate captain..." Spitting a clot of blood to the side, he turned in his chair and began typing his report. "I guess it's not so bad... this ship was scheduled for service and upgrades anyway, and I can conclusively say that, with the crew scattered as it is... the Burning Star has burnt out."

Before the Hunter Squad can even make a move, the White Dwarf's defenders make their final stand. Beams and bullets fly, destroying the armaments and repair kits of the smaller SDA corsairs, and a combined assault of Rocs and Fred's controlled corsairs causes the Heavy corsairs to be completely scuttled.

Biggs and Wedge turn their corsairs to connect with the White Dwarf.

Back on board the White Dwarf, Enrica greets the crew with a sigh of relief and a rare smile. "I cannot commend you all enough... thanks to you, we will be smooth sailing from here. We're already too far out of bounds for another hunter squad to catch up to us."

Her eyes then narrow at Jonas, and she approaches him slowly. "You... what's that in your pocket?" Jonas' shirt pocket is glowing a soft green light...

Fred's suggestion that the rest hold the soldiers off while Fred installs himself on the dreadnaught is promptly shut down; without backup, Fred realises that he is unable to take over the dreadnaught on his own, and is forced to retreat to the White Dwarf.

His hacked Corsairs follow him in. Once in the airlock, they pop open, throw out their former pilots (five minutes before the end of Doctor Who), and march off to find themselves somewhere out-of-the-way to temporarily store themselves; after the 'bathroom incident', this means that they stand neatly on one side of the corridor.

Fred remains silent. He's moved out of his suit and onto the White Dwarf's computers, but doesn't appear to have any comment to make.

Feng returns Enrica's smile with a salute, but does not match it with a smile of her own. Her face is now tired and worn down, the adrenaline of battle all drained out of her.

Sebastian comes walking in from the crew's quarters where an improvised jail has been set up to hold the captured enemy Corsair pirates. "Ma'am," Sebastian nods at Enrica. "Me and some of the other crew members have just finished setting up the enemy pilots with their new digs. Searched them for weapons, tied them up and separated them into different rooms under armed guard. Not sure what we're gonna do with them at this point, though I'm given to believe that interrogation is a popular option."

As Jonas pulls the object out of his shirt pocket, the crew recognizes a very familiar piece of pulsar - its distinctive green glow and resonant hum are immediately recognizable as the Swara Pulsar that Rojo had shown the crew before the mission. Enrica's face whitens in shock before she lets out a sigh. "That fool... so he slipped it in your pocket while we were on the bridge without telling you or me about it. Figures, that's just like him, selfish..." she trails off, lost in thought as she stares at the case that Feng retrieved from the hold of the Silk Road. After a moment, she says, "I'm not sure what he was thinking, giving that to you, but even in death I will defer to his judgement, warped as it sometimes seemed. Take care of that keepsake of the Captain, Jonas."

Rising to her feet, she says, "For now, we need to finish this mission. Our client is waiting for us on Pandemonium. When we're there, and we get our pay, we'll discuss what to do next."
