I'm not sure that this has been entirely thought through.

Specifically, it is still possible, without counting posts myself, and without using any information not available to a random browser (i.e. not actually breaking into the site to look stuff up), for me to tell that Crake has posted the most posts since the last reset. In fact, I could give the ranking order of all the posters - admittedly not exactly how many posts they each posted, but their ranking order. (Which currently has Thyla at number 36, and AxelFendersson at 18.) This seems to make the bad side of post counts (which appeared to be most of it) still accessible, in that the relative rankings, though not the actual numbers of posts, are still available.

In other words, in order to make a proper job of removing post counts, could you also then remove this functionality (the "total posts" option under "sort by" in the memberlist)?

There is still a way to access your post counts. for instance this is my 297th post.

Those negative post counts weren't nearly as funny if you were one of the folks who had them. I went from like 2k to -2k (and third least posts) overnight. Though re-posting in introductions when I hit 1 again was fun.
