I know I really shouldn't care about this, but I am kind of curious. My post count (displayed under my user name) and my search count (the number of results I get by searching for all posts I've made) disagree by 2.

Now, I know some threads have been deleted, and at least one of my posts has, so the discrepancy is not all that unreasonable. Except that my search count returns more than my post count. If the deleted posts were the cause, the opposite would be true, right?

So yeah, I was just wondering if anyone knew or had a guess as to how this happened.

Sometimes deleted posts are not so much deleted as disappeared, they're still there but you can't see them. We have to keep them somewhere so we can remember who's been naughty and who's been nice. Now run along and don't pay any attention to post counts or I'll tell Santa* you've been naughty.

*Actually, I meant Satan.
